This list is a continuation of Free Games for Cat Lovers Part 1, with 10 more cat-themed games available on Itch.io. Like the first list, this contains a mish-mash of genres including RPG, action-adventure, time management, and more.
Despite the diversity of playstyles, you can rest assured that these titles are all suitable for casual gamers looking for a place to unwind (whether that be by serving up drinks in a cozy cat cafe…or by committing kitty arson and shooting off cannons.)
Each game you see here is quirky, cat-themed, and available to download for free with the option to donate. Curiosity only kills time, not cats (well, unless they’re zombie cats) when you play the below passion projects made by generous independent developers that chose to upload their creations for free!
1) Cat War Z
The island is quickly filling up with zombie cats and your ship is out of fuel… How will you escape? Because Cat War Z involves a lot of multi-tasking, you’ll have to fight your way past undead hordes all while maintaining oxygen levels, collecting resources, upgrading your gun arsenal , and more.
Put your skills to the test with Cat War Z’s Story and Survival modes. In Story mode, you will be faced with a set of tasks to complete, eventually ensuring your escape from this zombie cat wasteland. After you’ve triumphantly conquered the story, switch up the stakes by setting and beating your own high score in Survival mode where your purpose is simply to outlast the zombies for as long as possible!

2) Kitten Sanctuary
Kitten Sanctuary is a matching game with loads of extra purrks. In this game, players fend off evil alien invaders and create a haven where all kittens can be safe! After using your matching skills to acquire powerups, save trapped kittens, and beat one of 100 levels, you’ll be able to head back to your sanctuary for some more fun!
Within your Kitten Sanctuary, you’ll be able to collect and care for dozens of cats across various habitats. Visit the shop to grab essential supplies, toys, and decorations to give your sanctuary some added flair. And don’t forget to lock in some dedicated playtime, too! Kittens can become unhappy and even wander away! When this happens, the only way to get them back is to re-rescue them from alien clutches.

3) Unfamiliar
A lone black cat pursues a mystical entity in this dark and moody puzzle platformer. Rascal is on a heartfelt adventure toward self-discovery, and you must help him overcome any obstacle that may get in the way! Find out where his curiosity leads him as you venture through ever-changing environments, gradually unraveling the narrative behind Unfamiliar.
The puzzle platformer aspects are simple, so you can easily relax into your journey and the captivating scenery surrounding you. If you were to see it listed on Steam, Unfamiliar could be categorized as atmospheric, with a mesmerizingly beautiful though quiet world to explore. There is a smooth, floaty feeling to leaping and running in this game and not much background noise besides the ambient sounds of nature.

4) Bubble Jcat
Bubble Jcat is all about solving the strange mystery of your missing cat. It’s typical of him to disappear for a few days after every full moon. This may be strange, but you’ve accepted it because he always comes home before too long. However, Jcat has been missing for five days this time, and you’re starting to feel lonely and worried about him! To get him back, you’re going to have to leave your house during a city-wide lockdown in the midst of a global pandemic in search of Jcat…or at least some clues that could explain his disappearance.
Use items to interact with objects and problem-solve as you look into the whereabouts of your beloved best friend. During Bubble Jcat, there will be some pivotal decisions to make that will decide which ending you get out of three possibilities. One of the endings is bad, so good luck avoiding it and going home with your kitty safe-and-sound instead!

5) Kitty Kitty Bang Bang
Embrace your inner chaotic demon (AKA your inner cat) as you wreck everything in your path! In Kitty Kitty Bang Bang, your main goal is to NOT be a good kitty. Luckily, this convenient list of destructive tasks on the upper right corner of the screen will help you achieve just that.
It’s impossible to go overboard with your antics in Kitty Kitty Bang Bang since you’re encouraged to commit arson, shatter windows and glass objects, and “even fire a cannon!” Ridiculous, over the top, and loads of fun, the game page goes on to describe it as a “unique fusion of Stanley Parable and Goose Game with a truly superior creature.”
Kitty Kitty Bang Bang was made for Wowie Jam 3.0 in under 48 hours. The topic for this game jam was, “Failure is progress. Let’s mess with the concepts of winning and losing.”
6) An Average Day at the Cat Café
An Average Day at he Cat Café is a cozy in-browser game where you must scramble to make drinks for impatient customers. Although your shop seemingly houses only a single resident cat, don’t worry— many more will come through as customers. Try to serve them quickly before they get tired of waiting and angrily stomp away!
Exercise your mind by memorizing steps from the menu board and completing them as efficiently as possible. As you progress through the game, food and recipes will be added to your menu, allowing your customer base to expand. Additionally, as day turns to night, some of your customers become hauntingly strange looking with very peculiar requests. Will you be able to uphold your shop’s reputation despite the odd orders and long lines?

7) Magical Kitties and the Big Adventure!
Step into the paws of a loyal orange tabby cat on a quest to recover their little girl’s lost doll. Magical Kitties and the Big Adventure! is a digital roleplaying gamebook that requires you to roll dice, gain specific attributes (like magical powers), record stats, and choose your own path.
There are some light horror elements to the story as you will explore the eerie confines of an old house that is less haunted by ghosts and more so by the shenanigans of pesky raccoons. The ending you arrive at will depend on factors like your choices and dice rolls, so it could be worth a few replays if you’re interested in trying out the other paths.
Because its a TTRPG comic book, you’ll need some dice, pencil, and a piece of paper to embark on this kitty-quest. Magical Kitties and the Big Adventure! is an excellent RPG book for those who are new to the genre or anyone simply looking for fun, creative cat content to relax with! It’s also part of Atas Games’ larger series, Magical Kitties Save the Day, so you can continue solving problems as magical cats if this first adventure leaves you wanting more.

8) Cat Chaos
Become a multi-tasking master, expertly balancing caring for your home and five chaotic kitties!
Even though these cats are bonkers, you love them and want them to be happy, so keep up with tending to each cat’s different moods, needs, and personalities as they work on destroying your home! When the cats feel hungry or lonely, you have a chance to step in and fix their woes. However, neglecting their needs for too long will damage the orange bar reflecting their happiness and health.
While the cats run amok, don’t forget to work on cleaning or administering repairs. Keep an eye on all the problems that continue to arise, because shredded bedsheets or a mangled role of toilet paper will negatively impact your house’s “health” bar. To win Cat Chaos, prevent your house and cats’ health bars from dropping to zero before the timer is up!

9) Potions
Gather resources, brew potions, save your cat — these are your three main objectives in Potions, a cute in-browser or downloadable game made for LÖVE JAM 2023.
To brew the “elixir of life” and heal your ailing kitty, Basil, you will first need to create a series of other potions that will imbue your character with various abilities needed to complete the game. These potions can only be brewed by collecting the corresponding ingredients from the resource-rich lands surrounding you. As you progress, Potions‘ forest-filled map slowly opens up, providing everything you need to heal your sweet cat and live happily ever after together.

10 ) Moonlit
Prance around this dark, industrial landscape, solving puzzles and completing challenges as a white cat in search of the moons. Moonlit it is a metroidvania (made for Metroidvania Month 14), so you can expect a non-linear style of exploration with platformer elements. The city is labyrinth-like, full of hidden passageways and obscure rooms that need to carefully scouted so as not to miss anything. Conquer the map, collect all the items, and gaze upon each moon to beat the game.
Moonlit offers a challenge without being overly frustrating for casual players. However, if you do encounter any major hurdles impeding your smooth completion, don’t hesitate to check the discussion section on the game page. You can try posting your question to see if the dev or another player can provide some guidance. However, since the creator is very responsive, the answer may already be there!
