1) Cat Days

If you love cats and a bit of chaotic (but friendly) competition, Cat Days is a purrfect fit. You’ll need to play your cards wisely if you want to outscore your opponent and maybe even throw in a bit of sabotage along the way. Some cards will help you rack up lots of points while others shake things up by allowing you to steal cats and even cancel out scores.

A single Cat Days deck is sufficient for two players but, if you want to include more people, simply mix in an extra deck. Each extra deck lets you add up to two additional players.

Bonus: a portion of each sale helps fund animal charities in the US and UK!

Ever watched a cat gleefully bat something off the edge of a table? Well, that’s the spirit of the game, Cats Knocking Things Off Ledges. Players take turns building a miniature cat tower and carefully stacking toys on it using tweezers. Then they use a cat paw paddle to bat the toys off from the highest spots possible for maximum points. The hard part is that these cat towers are super wobbly, and if accidentally knock one over, you lose the game!

In a way, it’s like Jenga with a bunch of extra steps and cats. If you want a simple, cozy, dexterity game (that also happens to be cat themed), give Cats Knocking Things Off Ledges a try.

4) The Cat Lady

The goal of Cat Lady is to draft the strongest and most well-fed collection of cat cards. To accomplish this, players lay cards out in a 3×3 grid and gradually build their hands by selecting full rows or columns from the grid. Some cards contain cats that score victory points if you can fulfill their needs. For example, if a cat requires chicken or tuna, you’ll need to collect the corresponding food cards and feed it to earn points. But be careful not to have too many resources left over, since leftover food hurts your total score.

In Calico, more cats means more points! Stich the coziest quilt to attract lots of sleepy cats to curl up on it for a nap, and claim the coveted Master Quilter badge for yourself. Placing tiles the right way gets you more cat tokens and cute pins to decorate your quilt board for immediate points. But if you want to aim for an even better payoff, focus on completing any of the three long-term design goals available on your board. Cozy and visually pleasing, this game can also be a real brain teaser, especially when you’re balancing trying to win cats, pins, and design goals all at once.

The Isle of Cats is under attack by the evil Lord Vesh, and its furry inhabitants need your help to reach safety! Rescue as many cats as possible by bringing them aboard your ship before Lord Vesh arrives and destroys everything.

Each player gets their own ship board to add cat tiles to. The first cat you rescue can be placed almost anywhere on your ship, but all following cat tiles must connect. The unique thing about these tiles are that they’re shaped almost like Tetris pieces and must fit neatly together.

Played in phases, you’ll take turns fishing in the sea, purchasing and playing helpful cards, and rescuing cats from the island.

This is done over the course of three rounds where musicians bid on cards and attempt to collect matching sets of four. If you want to outplay your rivals, you must carefully manage your cards and quartettes while remaining a smart bidder during each auction phase.

Named after the Schrödinger’s cat thought experiment, Cat in the Box is a trick-taking card game with a twist. It plays with the idea of uncertainty by removing fixed suits from the equation. Each card in the deck of 45 is printed in back but gets assigned a color upon play using the game board. After everyone has played a card, the highest card of the lead color wins and begins the next round. This continues until all cards have been played or someone is unable to play legally, creating a “paradox” and ending the round.
